Intervention study with the vaccine candidate Abdala started in Public Health workers at the Bayamo polyclinic

The intervention study of the vaccine candidate Abdala in Granma Public Health workers began this Thursday at the Bayamo Oeste polyclinic in the provincial capital, with a number of subjects that will gradually increase in the coming days.


Dr. Aníbal Ramos Socarrás rector of the University of Medical Sciences of Granma and head of the Working Group in the province for the intervention study of the vaccine candidate Abdala, pointed out that the provincial capital will also have six other clinical sites five polyclinics and the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and General Milanés hospitals.

Vaccination with Abdala at this stage will consist of three doses and will seek to reduce symptomatic infection among those vaccinated by 60 percent 14 days after the third dose is administered.

Workers of Bayamo Oeste Polyclinic referred after being vaccinated:

¨It is very important because the Health Workers are exposed to the risk of be infected with the disease all the time, and I trust in the Cuban science and in this success¨, said a nurse.

¨We are very grateful to the Cuban Scientifics to the Ministry of Public Health to reach this vaccinate in a very short time to protect our people to this terrible pandemic¨, said a health worker.
