The winners of the “Canción para una Ventana” (song for a window) music creation contest were announced this weekend, at the the 36th edition of the Bayames´s Culture Day.
In a show published through Facebook social network, the musician Luis Millet Yaque, on behalf of the jury, also made up of the writer Luis Carlos Suárez Reyes and the musician Javier Millet Rodríguez, highlighted the quality of the six competing works.
Likewise, he highlighted how the contest has maintained a high level in the pieces creation presented.
In this edition of the contest, the jury unanimously decided to award first place to the bolero “Que no pasa el tiempo”, by Giannys Arjona Silveira and sung by its own author.
On the occasion, the piece «Gorrión», by the authors Abel Guerrero Castro and Giannys Arjona Silveira, performed by Geidis Chacón Grillo, won the second prize.
In addition, the jury awarded third place to the work “Canto a mi río”, by César Reyes Ampudia and Ricardo Estrada González, defended by the Trío Pasión de Virama.
In this edition of the contest, the singer Yudenia Manso Costa won the Performance Award for the song “Always with you”, of her own authorship.
Different styles, voices and formats came together once again, in a single space in defense of authenticity and identity, to show the world the talent and inspiration of the Bayamo´s authors.
