More than 90 percent of the cases reported today as positive for Covid 19 in Granma belong to the municipality of Bayamo. This, along with the wide spread of patients throughout the province, further complicates the epidemiological situation of the territory.
With this new 154 positives COVID-19 cases, the province of Granma set for the second consecutive day a new record of confirmed in 24 hours, according to the daily update of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).
In the press conference, Dr. Francisco Durán, National Director of Hygiene and Epidemiology said: “Granma has a very high transmission of the pandemic higher than yesterday, which had already been high, with 9 more cases.”
Bayamo, capital of this Cuban region, ranks ninth among the 12 municipalities in the country with the highest incidence of the disease in the last 15 days, with 318 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
The province continues to increase its incidence rate (131.9), with this record being the second territory in the nation with the highest incidence in this indicator, preceded only by Havana.
All diagnosed cases are autochthonous and are from Bayamo (118), Manzanillo (14), Niquero (8), Jiguaní (7), Río Cauto (4), Cauto Cristo (2) and Bartolomé Masó (1).
Cuba registered the figure of 1,013 positives, of them 1,012 autochthonous and 1 imported.
