Founders and current members of the Grandanza Company received the homage of several institutions this weekend, on the occasion of its two decades of foundation.
At the Bayamo Theater the tribute was held, during the presentation of the ¨Todo Mezclado¨ play by the dance group.
The participation of these artists in the cultural development of the territory was also distinguished by the Provincial Council of the Performing Arts.
Ridiel Roblejo Leyva, president of that institution, presented recognitions to Félix Carballo Elizalde, Tamara Fonseca Guerra, Tania Carballo Elizalde, Arianna Tamayo Fonseca and Nivia Guerra Cabrales, active founders of Grandanza.
Likewise, were honored Yanisel Alvarez Paneque, Yusmelquis Conde Matos, Víctor Rosales Carbonell, Yanlis Fleves Guerra, Lisneido Garcia Ortiz, Abdanelis Mendez Costa, Yanela Pupo Figueredo, Yesenia Carmona Fonseca and Gretel Peralta Guerra, other of the protagonists in the beginning of the company.
The celebration is a space for the distinction of the Grandanza Youth Project, which in 2020 reached its 20 anniversary, evidence of its continuing art vocation.
This year Grandanza participated in online events such as: the International Online Theater Festival, the Sin Fronteras by Nicolas de Romero and the 13th International Santuron Festival in Mexico.
Likewise, they were part of the 11th International Exhibition of Continuous Movements, the Laboratorio de Artes and Danza La Fuente Company, reflexiones a la Danza dos and the 17 Artistic Festival Encuentro de Mujeres en Escena Tiempos de Mujer, all from Colombia.
As part of its latest results, the group won the Performing Award at the International Online Theater Festival, sponsored by the Doctecally High Fine Arts Center and the Mexican Theater Company with the play ¨Mensajero¨.
With twenty years on the scene, this group approaches social themes in its staging such as: daily life, conflicts, violence against women and gender equality.
The ensemble maintains a well-defined line that shows its three main objectives: the displacement of its dancers in the stage, stretching and body strength.
