Granma: More than 53 thousand people work at home at the age of Covid-19

Some 53,493 people of the province of Granma are working at home, as part of the measure to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus; it was made know by the provincial Confederation of Cuban Workers (CTC), in a press conference held this Wednesday in Bayamo.
During the meeting between the secretariats of the union with the media, to publicize the activities planned for May Day, it was also known that other 2,128 workers are carrying out their functions through telework.

In addition, some 2,612 mothers decided to dedicate themselves to caring for their children, while the isolation period to reduce the impact of Covid-19 among the people of Granma lasts.

The CTC in this eastern territory, which like the rest of the country will celebrate May Day from home, foresees a group of activities with little group that includes the encouragement of outstanding centers and workers, mainly linked to the agricultural, livestock and the Health sectors.

Despite the current circumstances in the country, 114 thousand 329 workers remain in their workplaces in the province, while of the 2 thousand 608 who were declared interrupted, some 2,553 are relocated to jobs in enterprises and entities linked to the food productions.
