Provincial Journalism Awards announced in Granma

The winners of the Provincial Journalism awards corresponding to 2019 in Granma, were announced on Sunday during the opening of the National Press Day commemoration the territory.

These celebrations began with a voluntary work in support of agricultural production in the Cinco Palmas organic vegetable garden, in the capital of the province, in which journalists from different media of the territory participated.

The Provincial Delegation of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC) in Granma granted the Rubén Castillo Ramos Life’s Work Award to the photojournalist Luis Carlos Palacios Leyva, from La Demajagua newspaper.
During the meeting, the Year Awards, Bartolomé Martí Pons, in the different categories were announced.

On this occasion, the awards for the work of the year were granted to Osviel Castro Medel, correspondent of the province in the Juventud Rebelde Newspaper, in written press category; on television, Yaquelín Pérez Valdés from the CNC Tv station; in radio the prizes was to Liuba Mustelier Ramírez of Radio Bayamo; Anaisis Hidalgo Rodríguez in the digital journalism and Rafael Martínez Arias, in graphic journalism both from La Demajagua newspaper.

Also on Sunday, the winners of the Dania Casalí opinion contest were announced, awards that went to Darelia Díaz Borrero, Luis Carlos Palacios Leyva, Osviel Castro Medel and Leipzig del Carmen Vázquez García, who also won a prize in Occasional Thematic.

The provincial Journalism awards corresponding to 2019 will be delivered in an official ceremony on the Press Day, as deserved recognition of the journalistic work of these professionals. (Image taken from the Internet)
