Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez has reiterated that his country and people will remain strong and committed with the Revolution despite the actions by the US government to increase the blockade against Cuba.
‘The intensification of the blockade, despite its undoubted economic impact, will not move the Cubans’ firm determination to resist and our commitment to the continuity of the Revolution and to the defense of sovereign Cuba. As in the last 60 years, we will win’, he wrote on the social media.
With the objective of economically choking the Cuban people and forcing a change of regime on the island, the U.S. government has adopted measures that provoked rejection within the northern country and in the majority of the international community.
Recently, on June 5, the White House administration imposed new restrictions on American travelers to Cuba and on the entry of cruise ships and private aircraft into the country.
Earlier, on May 2, Washington authorized the application of Titles III and IV of the Helms-Burton Act to scare off any interest in investment in Cuba, according to specialists.
The third section of the meddling initiative establishes the authorization for U.S. nationals to file lawsuits against foreigners in the courts of the northern country for alleged trafficking in property nationalized in Cuba.
Meanwhile, the fourth prohibits the entry into U.S. territory of those investors (and their families) who have already committed on trade with the island.
The Government of Cuba ratifies that the Caribbean country has Act No. 80 of 1996 on the Reaffirmation of Cuban Dignity and Sovereignty, which declares the Helms-Burton Act illegal, inapplicable and without any legal value or effect.
It therefore considers any claim under the Helms-Burton Act of a natural or legal person as null, regardless of citizenship or nationality.
