More than 260 schools of the Turquino Plan opened this school year in Granma, to welcome about nine thousand students of several teachings.
According to Caridad León Castillo, provincial deputy director of Education, 249 of them are primary and nine secondary schools, while some maintain the boarding schools for students living in more far zones.
It specifies that in the Sierra Maestra mountain two pre-university institutes remain this year, three schools for the education of young people and adults, one for Special Education.
The executive stressed that two centers began the school year with guaranteed teacher coverage, as well as the students´ material aids.
Also, the schools of the mountainous are received technological equipment, the uniforms, while two mini-toy libraries with modern equipment stand out, located in the town of Buey Arriba.
The schools of Granma contemplated in the Turquino Plan are located in the territories of Guisa, Buey Arriba, Bartolomé Masó, Pilón, Media Luna, Campechuela and Jiguaní. (Milena Céspedes Milan / PHOTOS: Armando Yero La O)
