
With a parade to the Plaza de la Revolución opened this Sunday the 35th edition of the La Bayamesa Culture Days, to be held until next 27.
In its 35th edition, the festival will be dedicated to the 168th anniversary of the performance for first time on March 27th, 1851, of the emblematic song “La Bayamesa”, a loving and patriotic symbol that marked the romanticism in Cuba.
In order to evoke that musical piece, the lecture Céspedes, Fornaris and Castillo, La Bayamesa´s creators; the conservatory Fornaris and his masterpiece; the presentation of the book ¨La Bayamesa a 165 años de su canto¨, and the musical creation contest Canción para una ventana will take place.
Scientific events, concerts, performances, competitions and children’s shows are among the activities organized by the Municipal Directorate of Culture in Bayamo and its network of institutions.
The event will be also dedicated to the figure of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, Father of the Cuban Homeland, on his bicentennial to be celebrate this year.
The agenda also includes the Entre Bambalinas theater festival, the photo exhibition Mujer de mi ciudad, presentations of the Guerrilla de Teatreros group and the Folkloric Ballet of Granma.
