The 2nd San Salvador of Bayamo Early Music Encounter will take place in Granma from November 2 to 5, in the capital of the province.

Yuneisis Arjona Cisnero, director of the Exulten early music group, offered details about a conference that will enrich this edition of the event.

This year we are going to receive a lecture titled Approach to the life and works of the Spanish priest and musician Rafael Pompa Aró, who was a composer that we found in Banes, he has more than forty pieces, and current we are carrying out the first steps of a research of his contributions to this kind of music in the regions of Banes and Macabí, she explained.

Although, it is not really early music, but it is our antiquity, as regard to the eastern music, it has been discovered, studied and performed by the Cathedral of Santiago de Cuba, she noted.

Regarding to the lecturer, Arjona Cisnero, specified:

Mr. Juan Bosco Hernández Ará, is the person that has the scores in his possession, he is a descendant of one of the singers of the choir who led this parish priest at the Church of Banes, she added.

The conference about the life and work of the Spanish musician Rafael Pompa Aró, will be one of the spaces for improvement and enrichment of the 2nd San Salvador of Bayamo Early Music Encounter.
