The first vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers, Salvador Valdés Mesa, called in Bayamo to increase the food production as premise to increase the offers to the population.

Valdés Mesa said that the agriculture sector have been benefited with  irrigation systems and machinery in the country; However, the production levels do not satisfy the demand, so it is urgent to grow in hectares to produce food in all the municipalities! he stated.
The member of the Political Bureau also said that we have to commercialize with more efficiency and Acopio (collection) enterprise must resolve the problems between prices and product quality.

Valdés Mesa recommended, our values ​​must be strengthened, because those issues produces many social indisciplines and illegalities in this sector.

The first Cuban vice president exhorted the directors of the Granma sugar company to take better advantage of their installed capacity and meet their technical sugar production plan, diversify their agricultural production and enter fully into the production of  building materials.
