On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the assault on the Mocada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks, the provincial event of the province of Granma for the National Rebellion Day was held at the Ñico López Museum Park in Bayamo.
The conmemoration was presided over by the Commander of the Revolution Guillermo García, and the member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party, Army Corps General and deputy Minister of the FAR Ramón Espinosa Martín, among other leaders.
The celebration began with the interpretation of Cuban musical pieces, dedicated to the historic event held on the afternoon of this Tuesday.
Two thousand people from Bayamo attended the provincial political cultural event for the National Rebellion Day, in which different artists, through songs, poems, and dances, evoked the heroic deed.
The formerly Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks was assaulted by 21 young people of the Centennial Generation at the dawn on July 26, 1953, led by Fidel Castro in simultaneous action with the Moncada in Santiago de Cuba.
