The President of the Councils of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Diaz-Canel, said today that the popular discussion of the reforms to the law of laws will enrich the new Constitution of the Republic.
The Cuban leader said this when attending the meetings held at the Hermanos Saiz University and the Hermanos Cruz locality, both based in the western province of Pinar del Rio, where he is leading a government visit.
The participation in this process of analysis is the result of the responsibility of the people that will enrich the Constitution with their contributions, Diaz-Canel said.
About 936 meetings, of more than 7,000 planned, have been held in this territory where the institution of marriage, the extension of the presidential term and citizen rights are listed as the most discussed issues.
During his visit to the province, the Cuban president toured emblematic production centers such as La Conchita business unit, which produces canned fruit and vegetable; the ‘Enrique Troncoso’ citrus agroindustrial companies, promoter of fruit tree programs in the territory, and La Coloma industrial fishery, decisive in the capture of lobster in the country.
The tour also included areas of the Hermanos Barcon base business unit, where one of the major agricultural sectors in Pinar del Rio is located, and the ‘Tranquilino Sandalio’ Polytechnic Institute, which trains mid-level technicians in agriculture.
In all sites, Miguel Diaz-Canel was welcomed by the people with whom he spoke extensively.
