The outstanding creator of the visual arts Rafael Fuentes Rojas received recognition from the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba and the Provincial Center for the Development of Visual Arts, on the occasion of the 30 years of work.
The tribute took place during the opening of the retrospective exhibition Estaciones, opened on Thursday night at the Dos Columnas gallery, in this city of Bayamo.
Estaciones exhibits the pieces Ciclos, Autorretratos con cintas, Gran homenaje a Marcel Duchamp, El Secreto, La palabra perdida, Oscilante quietud de la memoria, Ruinas and some series Compenetraciones and El color de la rosa, among others.
Fuentes Rojas stressed that it is a great satisfaction to arrive at three decades of work and share it with the public.
Danelys Gómez Pompa, curator of the expo, points out that Estaciones can be seen as a time machine, survivor of existential ideas, questions and rethinking that have turned Fuentes Rojas into the experienced one it is.
It also highlights that as a background of this show is a career marked by the versatility of his knowledge, so that its speech is focus on the metaphorical-narrative, codifying symbolism and allegories. (By: Liuba Mustelier Ramírez)
