More than 200 outstanding young people from the eastern province of Granma, enjoy multiple recreational and cultural options, while carrying out productive and social impact tasks, as part of the second stage of the summer camps A disfrutar Cuba.
From this Tuesday until the next 12, the pioneer camps of the municipalities of Bartolomé Masó and Guisa, and the Celia Sánchez Manduley pedagogical school, of Manzanillo, welcome those selected to share experiences and have fun, based on a broad program of activities throughout the territory.
Dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Independence Wars in the country, the initiative includes visits to places of great historical importance, considered altars of the Homeland, such as La Demajagua National Monument, where on October 10th, 1868, the uprising took place.
Michel Santiesteban, official of the Young Communists League (UJC) in Granma, told the ACN that each center will host 75 campers, and those based in Guisa will be able to visit the Braulio Coroneaux´s hill, the Cupaynicú Botanical Garden and several institutions of economic interest.
He informed that they will also go to Dos Ríos, in Jiguaní, to pay homage to the National Hero José Martí; while in Rio Cauto they will exchange with local authorities, they will visit the center destined to crocodiles breeding in Birama, and the Calisur Business of Shrimp Base Unit of the south coast.
On the other hand, the camp based in Bartolomé Masó foresees activities in the itself municipality, as well as in Bayamo, Yara and Buey Arriba; and from Manzanillo will also go to Media Luna, Campechuela and Niquero, he said.
Santiesteban highlighted that the programs include talks with combatants, historians and other personalities, dance, and special actions for the International Youth Day, and the 92nd birthday anniversary of the leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro.
Between August 13 and 21, Granma will hold another summer camp based at the Félix Varela special school in Bayamo, in which 100 young people from all over the province will participate, he added.
Sponsored by the UJC throughout Cuba, these initiatives aim to stimulate students and young workers with outstanding path in different sectors of society.
