The province of Granma hosts the 4th  Meeting of the Network of the Offices of Historians and Conservers of the heritage cities of Cuba.

Representatives from Baracoa, Santiago de Cuba, Bayamo, Camaguey, Sancti Spiritus, Trinidad, Remedios, Matanzas and Havana are holding the meeting, where Viñales also attend as an observer.

The meeting opened this morning with the ceremony of the flag at the Plaza de la Revolución and the delivery of the replica of the revolver of Carlos Manuel de Cespedes by the Office of the Conserver of the City of Matanzas.

A replica of the Smith and Wesson revolver, 32 caliber that belonged to Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, was donated to the Birthplace Museum by the Office of the Historian of the city of Matanzas.

The participants also visited the Cathedral of Bayamo, a patrimonial jewel of this city, and an exponent of the people´s identity of the second village founded in Cuba.

The participants of the meeting visited the Capilla de los Dolores, in the San Salvador of Bayamo Cathedral, only part of the city that was not burned in the historic set on fire of the city on January 12th, 1869.

Among the issues under debate are those linked to the conservation of our history and the wealth of the cities.

On this occasion, the analysis of the specialists is focused on the organic low, the implementation of 356 decree and the role that the offices of historians and conservers will have in the regulation for self-employment.

The 33 participants of this network also visited historical sites of the Granma territory such as: The Guafe, Cabo Cruz and Las Coloradas, and tomorrow they will attend the act for the celebration of the 150th  anniversary of the beginning of our independence struggles and will visit the monument of Dos Rios.
