The Hombre de Marmol event, sponsored by the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes’ Birthplace Museum, will open this Monday in this city of Bayamo.
The meeting will be dedicated to the bicentenary of the Father of the Nation, and to the 145 anniversary of his fall in combat.
Dianelis Camejo, specialist of the museum, told the press that the activities include a visit to the Santa Ifigenia cemetery, located in the city of Santiago de Cuba, where the remains of the Father of the Nation rest.
On February 27th a political and cultural event will take place with the lay of floral wreath before the statues of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and Perucho Figueredo, in the Bayamo´s Plaza de la Revolución.
Hombre de Marmol (Man of Marble) is an approach to the personality of the former President of the Republic in arms, and in a good will gesture he offered his life and fortune to the freedom of Cuba.
