A group of 30 young people from the province of Granma will climb the Caracas peak, in the Sierra Maestra this Thuesday, to pay homage to the leader of the Venezuela´s Bolivarian Revolution Commander Hugo Chávez, on the sixth anniversary of his death.

Members of the Young Communists League and linking to the economic and social spheres of the municipality of Bartolomé Masó, the participants in the tribute will walk about 14 kilometers, from the Juana community, to the top of the mountain that bears the name of the capital of the brother country.

Dania Vázquez Cairo, First Secretary of the Young Communists League in that municipality, told the press that there they will hold a political-cultural act to evoke the legacy of the brilliant revolutionary and Venezuelan statesman, to whom the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro qualify as the best friend of the Cuban people.

Also in this emblematic site, three young people will receive the card that accredits them as new members of the organization, she said.

The Caraca Peak is over 1. 200 meters above sea level, the top is crowned by busts of the Venezuelan heroes Simón Bolívar and Hugo Chávez, since the years 2004 and 2013, respectively.

As part of the tribute of the people of Granma to the eternal Commander-President of Venezuela, this March 5th also an event will be held at the provincial delegation of the Cuban Friendship Institute with the Peoples, in the Bayamo city.

Considered one of the most prominent revolutionary leaders in America, Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías was born on July 28, 1954, in Sabaneta, in Barina state. He was a military man and a politician, and he served as president of his country from 1999 to 2013, when he died victim of cancer.
