For its results in the implementation of the strategy for the natural habitat conservation, Granma turned out to be an outstanding province on the occasion of June 5, World Environment Day.
Granma highlights in the plan of strategic actions for the face to the climate change Tarea Vida (life task) thanks to the implementation of about one hundred tasks in vulnerable areas of the territory.
Yanet Sans, specialist in environmental management at CITMA in the province, explained to Radio Bayamo that these results contributed to the fact that the territory reached the outstanding condition on the occasion of theWorld Environment Day.
While research actions were carried out in the territorial planning and natural disaster risk management.
In this regard highlights the work carried out by the University of Granma with 23 projects on the life task, as well as the education sector, water resources, roadworks, the electricity company, health, among others.
For this year the plan considered in the life task has 96 actions, in response to eleven tasks and five strategic actions while the development of activities in the prioritized areas is expected.
