The delegation of the province of Granma to the 20th Congress of the Cuban´s Workers Federation (CTC) received the flag, that represent this event this Thursday at La Demajagua Museum Park, National Monument and site where 150 years ago began the struggles for independence.

At the ceremony, the Granma´s workers, on behalf of all Cubans, supported the declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Island denouncing the interference of the United States Government in applying the III Title of the Helms – Burton Law against Cuba.

The member of the political bureau of the Communist Party and CTC Secretary General in the country Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, handed out the banner to his counterpart Migdalia Barreiro Cisneros from Granma, along with the 72 delegates that make up the delegation, including three direct selected members and two guests.

“From this place of deep historical symbolism, rebellion and dignity, I place this flag in you with the certainty that you will hoist the challenges and results as the most important contribution of our trade union movement to the strategic purposes for the continuous advancement of the country”.

Guilarte de Nacimiento said that the most important meeting of the Cuban workers will take place in a significant moment for the unity of Latin America and in the context of the updating of the Island’s economic model.

The ceremony was also attended by Federico Hernández Hernández, member of the Central Committee of the PCC and its first secretary in Granma province, among other political, governmental and union leaders. (Taken from La Demajagua digital).
