In the city of Bayamo, this September 26 will be held the previous event of the province of Granma to the Four International Conference ¨For World Balance¨, which will take place in January 2019 to pay tribute to the Cuba´s National Hero, José Martí.

At the emblematic 1868 library the event will be held, to which writers, artists, teachers, journalists and other intellectuals are convened by the José Martí Cultural Society (SCJM) to spread the ideology of the greatest Cuban thinker of all time.

Teófila Acea, president of the José Martí Cultural Society in Granma, told that it is expected to discuss about a dozen researches, to select the works that will represent the territory in the International Conference.

The importance of intercultural dialogue, solidarity as an icon of sharing time, the need to stop the destruction of vital ecosystems for human existence, and access to education and culture for the exercise of fundamental human rights in the 21st century are among the topics that will be addressed  during the event.

She added that the works may also refer to the fight against all forms of discrimination; the role of youth, students and their organizations, their insertion in the change processes; the promotion of participatory democracy to build new societies, and justice as a  peace´s universal value.

Sponsored by the United Nations Educational, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO), the Four International Conference For World Balance will be held in January 2019, 166 years after the birth of José Martí, who was born on January 28th, 1853 in Havana.

The Cuba´s National Hero was a humanist, visionary, politician, poet, narrator, curator, journalist and speaker. Martí was the first creator of a party to make the revolution, and he is considered one of the spiritual humanity leaders.

His revolutionary, patriotic, anti-imperialist and internationalist ideas have been placed among the foundations of the socialist revolution started in the country after the triumph of 1959.

At the closing of the 3rd  International Conference, held in Havana in 2013, Ignacio Ramonet, member of the World Council of the José Martí Project of International Solidarity, warned about the dangers of the nuclear threat, climate change and the economic crisis, in front of that the Marti’s ideology stands as a model.

There also committed to promote the Apostle´s thinking, add wills and generate collective actions to reverse the aforementioned evils, a decision to which the Youth Forum of the event joined, which also condemned the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States of America against Cuba.
