At the Ñico López Park Museum, historical site of Bayamo, Del Esfuerzo la Victoria Distinction was granted to 50 outstanding people of Granma, and 16 noted institutions of the province.

The decoration instituted by the Provincial Assembly of the People´s Power, is conferred to personalities and institutions that stand out for their contribution and participation in the development of Granma province.

The member of the Central Committee and first Secretary of the Cuba Communist Party in Granma, Federico Hernández, and the President of the Provincial Assembly of the People´s Power, Manuel Santiago Sobrino, delivered the award to each of the honoree.

Among them are recent graduates young people at different levels of education, workers, leaders, technicians, teachers, intellectuals and combatants.

The entities include the Provincial Construction and Construction Maintenance Company, the Bayamo´s Mechanical Company, the Meat Company, the University of Granma, Provincial Education, the Enrique Moreno Credit and Services Rice Cooperative, of Río Cauto, and the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes sugar cane CPA.

Also included in that list the Dione Artesanía Industria, provincial company the Apicultural Unit, the Enidio Díaz Machado sugar mill, the Wax Museum and the Plaza de la Patria.

Oscar Torres Martínez, director of the Dione Artesanía Company, on behalf of the decorated, meant that this recognition represents a new commitment to continue contributing to the territory.

Del Esfuerzo la Victoria distinction is officially delivered in the province since 2006, as part of the recognition system of the provincial Assembly of People’s Power on the occasion of the celebrations for July 26, National Rebellion Day. (Marisela Presa Sagué / PHOTOS: Armando Yero La O)
