Federico Hernández, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and First Secretary in Granma, presented on Thursday the campaign developed in the eastern province to celebrate the 61st anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.

At the Bayamo Theater was made the call by which the leader urged to face the problems, find solutions, and promote creativity and enthusiasm.

The call, he said, is to work very hard to accomplish economic tasks, motivate labor groups and move forward, all with the decisive participation of the people.

In the new work stage, suitable attention will be given to the population and workers, with clear answers and a permanent desire to help and for everyone´s good, he stressed.
Under the slogan Granma for more, the new stage of work will commemorate the main events that led to the victory of January 1st, 1959, will evoke its protagonists, combatants fallen on missions in and out of the country, and also to those who continue the fight up today.

Special significance will be the tribute to the historical leader Fidel Castro, on the three years of his dead, which occurred on November 25, 2016.

In the year of the bicentenary of the birth of Father of the Motherland Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, and preceded by the carrying out of the central act for the 66th anniversary of July 26 in Granma, the initiative is a call to celebrate from joy, optimism, commitment and confidence in the future.

Until January 2, 2020, several events that took place in  the current limits of the province will be commemorated, such as the Battle of Guisa, the landing of the Granma yacht, and the reunion of Fidel and Raúl in Cinco Palmas.

Among the main activities are the so-called Operation Tribute, in honor of combatants fallen in internationalist missions; which coincides with the 124th  anniversary of the fall in combat of Lieutenant General Antonio Maceo and his assistant Captain Francisco Gómez Toro.

Deserving the outstanding condition at the country level, for the second year in a row, the Granma´s teachers will attend to the celebration of the national act for the Educator’s Day, on December 22nd,  58 years after the declaration of Cuba as a territory free of illiteracy, in 1961.

Other activities as trade fairs in all municipalities, inaugurations of works of social and economic benefit, celebrations for student days (November 17) and Latin American medicine (December 3), and activities dedicated to children will be held in this period.
