To increase the number of participants in the activities of the Electricity Saving Program is one of the objectives of the Provincial Office for the Rational Use of Energy (ONURE) in Granma in the current school year.

It was confirmed by Olaidy Rodríguez Lara, director of the ONURE in Granma, who said that last school year they achieved the attendance of about 45 thousand students and teachers in the events convened.

The executive said that the school plays an important role, because it promotes the importance of energy and fuel saving in neighborhoods and communities.

Rodríguez Lara added that at this stage ONURE will double the advice to student centers, increase the creation of circles of interest and deliver teaching materials in digital version for better teacher training.

Also, the specialists of this office are preparing to give lectures on saving energetic carriers to managers of educational institutions, she explained.

The Office of Rational Use of Energy in Granma, in coordination with the Provincial Directorate of Education, promotes the quality of competitions from school level to the provincial event.

Both entities pay more attention to works related to renewable energy sources and their implementation in the territory.

To develop the awareness and energy saving culture in students will continue to be a task well lead by teachers in this school year, a requirement that has special important for the country’s economic development in this moment.
