Dr. Luis del Arco Pérez, worker of the Provincial Sports Medicine Center, was elected on Tuesday first direct delegate of the eastern province of Granma to the 21st Congress of the Cuban´s Workers Federation (CTC), to be held January 2019.

Del Arco Pérez, is a graduate from the Medical Sciences College, and a specialist in Integral General Medicine and Sports Medicine, explained that he is proud to be the first delegate of this territory to the important event.

He said that it is a great honor for him, because the five people nominated in in his workplace fulfilled the requirements as professionals and human beings, to have been selected.

He added that the congress will discuss issues such as compliance with working day, efficiency, the quality of medical assistance and the training of health professionals.

Dalgis Isabel Rodríguez Gala, leader of the Union of Education, Science and Sports workers, said that Granma will have three direct delegates to the congress: including one from the union of Food and Fisheries Industry, and the other from the Union of the Civil Defense.

The direct delegates to the national meeting are elected by the votes of their workmates, in recognition of their careers, contributions to the labor movement and discipline.

Luis del Arco Pérez performed his job perfectly, fulfilled internationalist mission in the Plurinational State of Bolivia, where he was part of the Henry Reeve contingent, which is recognized worldwide for the humanism and knowledge of Cuban doctors, who save lives in different places.

The congress of the CTC will be important to analyze the concerns of the trade union movement and will contribute to the construction of a more prosperous and sustainable socialist society.
