Cuba”s president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, highlighted on Friday the bravery of his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolas Maduro, who a few hours ago took office as president until 2025.
Presidents, ministers and government representatives from 94 countries attended Maduro’s swearing in ceremony in Caracas on Thursday.
‘With optimism and confidence on the people in the face of great challenges in the battle against bureaucracy, corruption and inefficiency’, said the Cuban leader in his post.
The Cuban president previously wrote: ‘On my trip to Venezuela, I took with me a historic speech shortly to be 60 years old: ‘To this people who give us strength and moral support, we can only give them strength and moral support, and we can give them faith, and confidence in their destiny (Fidel 23/1/59).
President Diaz-Canel together with the first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), Raul Castro, have reiterated their permanent and unconditional support for the Bolivarian revolution, while demanding an end to the economic, political and media war against Venezuela.
Raul Castro, PCC first secretary, reaffirmed in the speech celebrating the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, on January 1, that no threat will stop us from being in solidarity with Venezuela.
He warned that Venezuela’s repeated declaration as a threat to U.S. national security, calls for military coups against its government, military exercises near its borders, as well as tensions and incidents in the area can only lead to serious instability and unpredictable consequences, said the PCC’s senior leader.
Venezuela was the first country to visit Diaz-Canel after assuming leadership of the state and government, and President Maduro was the first dignitary to travel to Cuba after April 19, when the Cuban president took office.
