The Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, checked here on Wednesday the measures implemented by local authorities in the face of the current energy situation, derived from the intensification of the blockade imposed by the United States on the island.

Along with the first vice president, Salvador Valdés, the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés and other national and territorial authorities, Díaz-Canel knew details about the work carried out in the province and its priorities in the current energy situation.

In this regard, the president of the Provincial Assembly of People´s  Power in Granma, Manuel Santiago Sobrino Martínez, reported the main lines of work for this stage, which include food distribution, educational activities and health programs.

Sobrino said that, the port-transport-internal economy chain was strengthened, the cold season planting campaign is fulfilled and tobacco cultivation and rice harvesting are prioritized, line in which arreas will be recovered in the current month.

Also, he explained the measures adopted in the coffee harvest, and the transport sector.

Díaz-Canel praised the quality of the report presented, describing it as very comprehensive, while also he  highlighed the work being carried out in other provinces such as Pinar del Río, Guantanamo and Santiago de Cuba.

Since the previous week, the Cuban President has been touring Cuban provinces in order to analyze the measures with a view to minimizing the effects with the fuel shortage.(Radio Bayamo Digital/ PHOTO: Internet)
