
Cuban and British professors today share experiences on teaching English in order to make viable methods and techniques that favor the learning process and encourage students.
Organized by the MES and the British Council, the meeting that began yesterday includes workshops and lectures addressed to English language teachers in Cuba of all high school centers in the country.
In its fourth edition, the National Conference on English Teaching is in line with guidelines of the European common reference framework to measure English sufficiency, said Minerva Rodriguez, director of the British Council in Cuba.
According to Rodriguez, with 20 years of work in Cuba, the British Council joins forces with the MES in order to train a more complete professional, with good command of the English language.
For his part, the national foreign language advisor of the MES Santiago Rivera explained that the conference takes place as part of the policy of improving English teaching in universities.
Present in 13 countries of the Americas, the British Council is a non-governmental organization of the United Kingdom for the promotion of cultural and educational relations with other nations.
