Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, toured on Thursday in this city a serie of social works, which were reopened as part of the actions in greeting of the National Rebellion Day.
Accompanied by the highest authorities of Granma, Federico Hernández Hernández, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party, and Manuel Santiago Sobrino Martínez, president of the government, Díaz-Canel visited a baseball stadium and football field for children belonging to the Jesus Menéndez Combined Sports, where he talked with athletes and coaches.
Also, he was at El Tuxpan restaurant, in which he was interested in the offers quality, the prices and stability of the products and indicated that the service of excellence should be daily.
The Cuban President praised the restoration and cutting-edge technology of the Céspedes cinema, and at the Computing and Electronics Palace, he advised to start providing services even when not all equipments are installed.
When moving from one facility to another, both located around the Plaza de la Revolución, many inhabitants came to meet them, whom he greeted warmly.
At the Siboney shopping center, former plaster factory, where a thousand people were waiting for its opening, Díaz-Canel noted the level of expectation and satisfaction in the population for having a beautiful service unit, and he invited them to make the first purchases.
Federico Hernández Hernández said that among finished and others in which they are still working, add about 200 new works of social benefit in the province, many of which received a greater support, upon knowing the news of the granting to Granma of the venue of the central act by July 26th.
Salvador Valdés Mesa, member of the Political Bureau and First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, also toured service facilities in the National Monument City, especially located on the central General García Pedestrian Street.
