Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel insisted today that unity is the main strength of Cubans and once again urged the people to contribute ”in body and soul” for the welfare of the country.
‘The only way to solve our problems is for each and every one of us who love the Revolution to ask ourselves daily: what can I do, what can I contribute? What can my personal effort do for collective growth,’ he tweeted.
He also stressed the need to think as a country, which he defined as the surrender in ‘body and soul at the service of the nation, taking full advantage of the most formidable and powerful force of the Revolution: Unity.’
Finally, he recalled that Cubans learned from the historical generation of Raul and Fidel Castro to discard the useless sorrow and concentrate on finding solutions, to turn challenges into opportunities and setbacks into victories.
The day before, speaking to deputies, the Cuban president affirmed that his country is advancing and no imperialist policy can prevent it, in reference to the growing hostility of the United States against the island.
He pointed out that in the northern nation they do not understand that 60 years of aggressions have not been able to break the Cuban Revolution.
He also congratulated the working harmony between the Government and Assembly to face the complex situation caused by the US blockade, its financial persecution and the return to the Monroe Doctrine.
He ratified Cuba’s support to the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela, the civic-military union in that country and President Nicolás Maduro, who are facing a political, economic and media war supported by Washington.
Díaz-Canel rejected, in addition, the campaigns that attempt to denigrate the internationalist work of the largest of the Antilles, by which 23 thousand doctors, teachers and other professionals provide services in 85 countries.
On the other hand, he described parliamentary work of the last week as intense and productive, in which the Electoral, National Symbols and Fishing laws were approved.
In addition, the National Electoral Commission was approved and important issues of national life were evaluated.(PL)
