Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Thursday highlighted Cuba”s resounding victory at the United Nations General Assembly, following the adoption of a new resolution calling for an end to the US blockade of the Caribbean island.
On Thursday, 189 members of the UN General Assembly endorsed the document ‘Necessity to End the Economic, Commercial and Financial Blockade Imposed by the United States of America against Cuba’.
Only the United States and Israel voted against the lifting of the blockade and there were no abstentions. Once again, the international community demanded the end of the blockade that the US government has maintained for almost six decades against Cuba.
