The Cuban film Inocencia (Innocence) was presented this Tuesday in Bayamo with the presence of part of its production team and the young Bayames actor Amaury Millán Ginarte, who plays one of the characters of the film.
Sadness, tears and a lot of emotion, is what the Cuban film Inocencia showed to the audience on Tuesday at the Bayamo Theater.
The film, directed by Alejandro Gil recreates the cruel event of November 27th, 1871, the unjust execution of 8 medicine students by the Spanish colonial government.
The screening of Inocencia was accompanied by his screenwriter Amilkar Salatti, the actress Yaremis Perez, co-star of the film and Amaury Daniel Millán, a Bayames actor who plays one of the students.
About this film, his writer Amilkar Salatti said:
Really, it is very nice to come and screen Inocencia, a historical film here in Bayamo.
It’s a film that I think it took a long time to be make produce it. Alejandro, its director was dreaming of doing it since 1991 when he made a documentary related to this theme and was about 2013, when we had been working together for a television program, and the started to work in the script.

On the other hand Amaury Millán stressed that Inocensia gives us a more real, more palpable vision of this part of the Cuba history, of which is not deepened in the study programs.
This cinematographic production focuses on the search of the bodies of the 8 medicine students, 16 years after being murdered in the investigation carried out by the Cuban patriot Fermín Valdez Domínguez, who was accused and sentenced to 6 months in prison in the same process.
An approach to an events in history that for years has been taken on a symbolical way and now it humanized by putting face and voice to those young people unjustly murdered.
