The Constitutional reform process is also an important political, normative and cultural event, assured in Bayamo the Doctor in Law Carlos Bruzón Viltres, associate professor of the University of Granma.

This is an event of great importance, from which all the citizens have the possibility to offer their opinion, with the aim that they themselves show their ability to face this complex challenge, said the also member of one of the duos in charge of the meetings of the popular consultation in the eastern territory.

In this regard, he said, the new text must be of the public domain, and highlighted the effort of the State to put the document available to the people, which is evidence of the truly democratic nature of the process.

Likewise, the systematic work of the media on the island confirms the political will of the people to have access, at all times, to real and timely information, he stressed.

The current draft constitution, in addition, is a way for the population to understand, the value of knowing and studying, but above all to use and respect the so-called Law of laws, as well as to acquire a greater legal culture, noted Bruzón Viltres.

He recalled it is nothing new for the Cubans, because in the largest of the Antilles there is a long constitutional tradition, from the colonial period, with projects named criollos, even before the Guaimaro´s Constitution, the first adopted by the mambises, Cuban independence soldiers) in full war, on April 10, 1869.
