Granma has just been recognized in the Board of Directors of the Ministry of Education as an outstanding in the recently applied Regional Comparative and Explanatory Study, an achievement that is added to the celebration of July 26th.

According to executives of the sector, the exercise was applied in eight primary schools in Granma, in which selected students of third and sixth grade, answered questionnaires of Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Natural Sciences, while also involved teachers, school directors and the families.

They specified that during this school year they received the necessary training in terms of methodology, contents, as well as an innovation module and a questionnaire to face this strict evaluation, where implemented in 251 primary schools from all over the country.

Applied also in other Latin American countries, the Regional Comparative and Explanatory Study constitutes a key mechanism for the monitoring and follow-up of the 2030 Education Frame of Action and Sustainable Development Goal 4 in the region.

This study is part of a project carried out by the Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education of UNESCO, made up of 18 countries in Latin America, including Cuba.
