A pre-event workshop with the participation of more than 50 business people started this Monday the collateral activities of the 7th Cuban Congress on Local Development, which will be held at the Sierra Maestra Hotel, in Bayamo.

Sponsored by the University of Granma, the event has this space that took place at the Drinks and Soft Drinks Company (EMBER) of Granma, attended by businessmen from all over the country and delegates and guests to the meeting, for the sake of strengthening University-company link based on local development.

 

In addition to this pre-event workshop, the 7th Cuban Congress on Local Development will have five exchange spaces related to sustainable agriculture and vegetal biotechnology, production and animal health, pedagogy for development and physical activity and sports.

 

The event will be attended by some 100 delegates from 14 countries including students from the United States, Canada, Angola, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, and other nationalities and will promote the link between the University of Granma (UdG) and universities from Brazil, Colombia and the Polytechnic Institute of Jamaica.

 

The opening of the Congress will take place this Tuesday at the Bayamo Theater, where delegates and guests will be able to attend a keynote speech by Doctor Jorge Núñez, outstanding expert in the country on the topic of Local Development.

 

The main objective of the event, which will be held at the Sierra Maestra Hotel, is to promote the academic debate for the search for alternatives that foster progress and it will also be an opportunity to sign international agreements related to local development.
