The 12th International Conference of Peoples and their Cultures, will take place in Bayamo from March 17 to 21, according to a press conference held at the Manuel Muñoz Cedeño provincial museum.

This edition will be dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the set on fire of the city of Bayamo, to the Bicentenary of the birth of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, to the Santiago de Cuba province and to the revaluation of the threatened urban heritages.

The central theme is the preservation, defense and dissemination of spaces, socio-cultural practices, architecture and goods that make up the cultural heritage of Cuba, the Latin American nations and the world.

There will be four workshops and will cover 66 works from nine Cuban provinces and from the thirteen municipalities of Granma, whose presenters belong to museums, universities and other research centers.

The event proposes works on the urban heritage, its conservation and the laws that safeguard it in Cuba and other countries.

Likewise, the participants will analyze the archaeological and anthropological researches as an expression of cultural diversity, spaces of joint among science, culture and society, as well as topics related to heritage and tourism.

On this occasion, a diversity of cultural activities for the enjoyment of different audiences will take place, as well as there will be more insertion of cultural institutions and other organizations.

Also, the exhibition Reliquias del patrimonio edificado will be inaugurated, in which the architectural masterpieces of Granma and Santiago de Cuba will be shown.
