In the municipality of Bayamo, the intensive stage against the Aedes Aegypti mosquito is maintained mainly in the areas of greatest focal vector.
Doctor José Antonio Rodríguez Montalvo, head of control of communicable diseases at the Provincial Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology and Microbiology, explained that the campaign is intensified mainly in El Valle, Manopla, La Unión, Siboney, Pedro Pompa, Camilo Cienfuegos popular councils.
Likewise, in Rosa La Bayamesa and Ciro Redondo districts are included in the intensive campaign because of the current epidemiological situation.
In these sites intensive treatment is maintained for 5 weeks, and in each of these places the population is already aware of what day they will be fumigated, he noted.
He stressed that the intensive treatment is applied in several blocks, mainly in those that have repeated the focus, where fever cases have been detected.
