The national act for the 59th anniversary of the creation of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), was held today at the Plaza del Himno of the Bayamo city, with the assistance of some three thousand CDR members of Granma on behalf of the whole country.

On the occasion a tribute was paid to Fidel, founder of the largest mass organization in the country, as well as a denounce to the US government recent aggression against the Cuban Revolution was reaffirmed.

In the act, the National Vanguard condition in the work of the organization was granted to the province of Granma, Holguín and Pinar del Río deserved the outstanding condition and Havana received a recognition.

Likewise, the 60 anniversary of the CDR banner was given to 6 detachments of the municipality of Bayamo, composed of more than 300 young people.

Osnel Zamra Martínez, CDR provincial coordinator, in the main speech expressed the achievements in the work integrally, ratified the decision to keep the guard and summoned to face the challenges as difficult to maintain in the vanguard at national level.

For his part, the CDR national coordinator, Carlos Rafael Miranda Martínez, acknowledged the results of the CDR members of Granma and in the country, while making a call to continue working to honor the 60th anniversary of the organization, to be held on September 28th, 2020.
