Artist and intellectuals from Granma joined on Thursday to the campaign that collects the signatures of the Cuban people for the release of the former Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva.
The call of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) also served to continue the process of unity that is carried out from the roots of the organization in the territory of Granma.
Alcides Garcia Carrazana, president of the film, radio and television branch of the UNEAC in the territory, said that these firms not only means a internationalism gesture, but also a sign of the commitment to defend our revolutionary process and Latin Americans´ unity.
I also express that it is our way of joining the anti-imperialist movements that are developing in several countries these days and that have revived the independence desires of the peoples of the region.
The signatures for the Lula´s release will be delivered at the Anti-Imperialist Solidarity Conference for Democracy and against Neoliberalism to be held from November 1 to 3 in Havana.(By: Noris Castañeda Valera).
