Artists, participants in the first edition of the Festival of Aliñao, highlighted the importance of the event as a space of good music and actions in favor of the recovery of traditions.
The troubadour Raúl Torres, the main promoter of the event, which ended this Sunday, told the press that the event offers quality musical alternatives, far from poor taste proposals.
He said that all the guests feel very well in this atmosphere of poetry and trova, which has reached different places in Manzanillo and Bayamo, including the town of Julia, located about 16 kilometers from the provincial capital.
Torres added that he has received many messages from friends, from different parts of the world, interested in attending the next edition, which predicts the growth of the festivity.
The troubadour Lynn Milanés said that it has been wonderful to share with so many good people and enjoy the different proposals of the meeting, which owes its name to the aliñao, traditional drink of the eastern part of the country, used to offer in the childbirth of a new member of the family.
Vania Borges said she was in love with the event, which is also a meeting among friends and music, and she desires to maintain it for many years.
This Sunday, in the courtyard of the Cuban Nationality House, several artists buried a bottle of aliñao, which should be opened to toast at the opening of next edition, scheduled for July 2019.
On Sunday, other activities took place, including a concert by Raúl Torres and Lynn Milanés in Julia town in the afternoon.
The Plaza de la Revolución of Bayamo, located in the Historic Center of the City, hosted last night the presentation of David Álvarez and Juego de manos.
Dedicated to Wilfredo (Pachy) Naranjo, leader of the Original of Manzanillo Orchestra and National Music Prize 2011, and to the Colibrí recording label, on the 15th anniversary of its creation, this edition also included visual art exhibitions, parades and the Trovadas space, with well reception by the public.
Sponsored by the Cuban Institute of Music, the Ministry of Culture, the National Center of Popular Music, and the highest political and governmental authorities of Granma, the Aliñao Music Festival will be held every year in this eastern territory.
