The outstanding Cuban musician Alexander Abreu and his band Havana D’ Primera performed on Tuesday night in Bayamo, as part of a national tour named Cantor del Pueblo, which will include several cities of the island.

The tour takes place in the context of the 20 years of Abdala Productions, which fostered that orchestra in the campaign for its celebration.

Scheduled until February 12, with the support of Clave Cubana and the Cuban Institute of Music, the tour is named as the most recent phonogram of the band, the 2018 Cubadisco Award and nominated for Latin Grammy.

In Santiago de Cuba he performed at the Tropicana cabaret, at the La Pachanga cultural center belonging to the Company of Recordings and Musical Editions (EGREM), and concluded with a concert at the Antonio Maceo Grajales Revolucion Square.

Mabel Muñiz, general manager of Productions Abdala, said to the press, that this tour was a debt of gratitude with the band she has been working some years ago and will take the chance to begin the distribution of the Cantor del Pueblo CD, recorded in the Studios of the same name.

Alexander Abreu pointed out with respect to the phonogram that it is a way of showing his feelings and way of thinking, because it exposes the Cuban behavior, with many themes based on love.

I have tried to make people dance with each of the songs and at the same time send a favorable message, that is why I consider myself a communicator, the artist commented.

Among the ten themes of the Cantor del Pueblo are Tres días, La mujer piropo, by Giraldo Piloto, Lamento Yoruba, Mujeriego, Energías oscuras, Pastillas de menta y Manantiales, Alexander Abreu’s favorite song as he confessed.

Regarding Havana mía, he said, it meant a lot to him, due to the situation that the capital is going through due to the devastating tornado of Sunday, January 27.
In addition to Santiago de Cuba, where he was already presented, the popular orchestra will perform in the Camaguey, as well as in the provinces of Ciego de Ávila and Villa Clara.
