Sharing the day by day with the Cubans and demonstration of solidarity from those little actions has filled us with hope to continue the fight for a united America, said to ACN, Nidia Reghina Da Silva, activist of the Landless Movement (MST) of Brazil.

Cuba, along with countries such as Venezuela, Bolivia and Nicaragua, can developing solidarity actions despite the setbacks suffered by social processes in our continent in the last few years, she added.

She stressed that Cuba is a horizon for those who defend just causes, and work here has been an opportunity for growth by getting involved in a socialist process and learning from the working of the People´s Power and mass organizations.

Da Silva, who is part of the national director of the MST, stressed the  cooperation value with the Martin Luther King Center, where they have knew about popular education, community work and the work of the Revolution despite the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

In statements offered to the ACN, Marcelo Duran, an activist of the Brazilian organization, highlighted the work they have done since its creation in 1984, along with the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), a Cuban example in the struggle to valorize the work of the peasantry.

The collaboration with this organization favored the learning and implementation in Brazil of experiences such as Cooperatives of Agricultural Production and Credit and Services, he said.

The MST organizes people who want to work the land, whether they are peasants or not, who occupy idle spaces, made useless by the landlords, and thus demonstrate the need for an agrarian reform, he explains.

Gathering people and land to increase food production is the premise of the movement that has become a national articulation present in 24 provinces of the 27 of Brazil.

A struggle for land, to achieve agrarian reform and social change in Brazil, these are the main objectives of the movement that has as inspiration the Cuban Revolution, he said.

Faced with the new government of Brazil, headed by Jair Bolsonaro, the popular organization has new and great challenges, said Marcelo Duran, above all to remain united in front of an administration that aims to eliminate all the gains achieved in favor of the people.
